On the 15th of February, on the International Childhood Cancer Day 2021(ICCD), the Golden Ribbon is used as a symbol around the world to symbolize support and solidarity in the fight against childhood cancer. International Childhood Cancer Day was launched in 2002 by the global network Childhood Cancer International (CCI) to raise awareness of the situation of children with cancer and their families.
Today, it has become a global collaborative campaign to raise awareness of childhood cancer and to express support for children and adolescents and their families who have recovered from cancer. We support children and adolescents with cancer and their families - we recognize their courage, bravery and resilience.
In Estonia, children with cancer and their parents are assisted by the Estonian Association of Parents of Children with Cancer, whose goal is to ensure the future of children. We carry the golden ribbon together, thinking of the heroes living in our midst, and we will do our best to make every child have a tomorrow.
